This Black History Month ecard is a montage of antique images. It starts by showing a part of a 19th Century etching of an African American church service from that era, focusing on a black man reading from a book at a pulpit. Title is superimposed in a black font and reds, "Celebrate Black Churches". Then the text changes to the title of the image: "Black congregation, 1860". The next image is a sepia toned photo from the mid 1800s of 10 black adults, 4 men and 6 women. They are well dressed and formally arranged in a crescent. The title below in white font says, "The Fisk Jubilee Singers, 1871 to 1878" and then, "These are their voices on the recording". The next photo is a current day color photo of a very small white hut with a plain white wooden door in front. Over the door is a sign that says in black painted letters, "Praise House". The subtitle reads, "Eddings Point Community Praise House, Saint Helena Island. Built around 1900. Originally built pre-Civil War. Next is an etching of a large, two story meeting house in a Colonial style. The caption reads, "African Episcopal Church of St. Thomas, Philadelphia, founded 1792, the first black Episcopal church. Developed from the Free African Society, black worshippers who left their previous church because of discrimination." The next photo is black and white and of a two story brick church built in the colonial, neo-classical style with stained glass windows. The caption reads, "Mt. Pisgah African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME), Elsinboro, New Jersey. Founded 1754 by Rueben Cuff, son of a former slave. Oldest continuously operating black church in the US." The next photo is in color. It is of a three story red brick church. The caption reads, "Ebenezer Baptist Church, Atlanta, Georgia, founded 1886." This photo cross fades to a color photo of an elder black preacher with glasses and folded arms and standing in front of an american flag on a flag stand. The photo is on the right side of the screen. On the left side is his name, "Martin Luther King, Sr.". This photo crossfades to another color photo of Martin Luther King, Jr., his head and shoulders are turned to his left and he is smiling broadly. His name appears to the right of the photo, "Martin Luther King, Jr." His name crossfades to the message of the ecard, "Wishing you a happy Black History Month."
