The Old Tyme Memorial day card is a sequence of illustrated vintage postcard circa late 1800’s & early 1900’s with captions starting with a postcard of a bald eagle carrying an American flag as he flies over a cemetery where one of the tombstones reads “Rest in Peace” with wreaths around it with American flag ribbons and the caption reads “Memorial Day Souvenir”. Next, two postcards next to one another both with a young boy holding the American flag in his hands as he wears an army suit and the caption reads “On fame’s eternal camping ground, their silent tents are spread” and on the other one, the young boy also in an army suit holds 3 American flags on poles in his arms along with flowers and the caption reads “Nor shall their story be forgot, while fame her records keep”. Next, another sequence of two postcards on the screen starting with a little boy in an army suit and boots holding a flower wreath as two American flags on poles are on the wall set like an “x” and the quote above the flags read “lest we forget”. Next to it, are 3 American flags on poles in the ground with flowers surrounding them and the caption reads “but his soul goes marching on”. To the next set of postcards starting with a Lady sitting on a throne wearing a long dress and draped with a very long silk covering over her dress and shoulder and a laurel wreath on the coiffed head. In one arm she holds an American flag on a pole and a laurel wreath with a ribbon in the other with flowers around her an on her dress as the caption reads “yet who would hold dearest back, and who would count his loss but gain. In memory of our heroes. Memorial day”. Next to it is a postcard circa 1880’s with a soldier holding his gun butt to the ground and at the forefront a highly decorated sword with a sign saying “promoted” on it over an army hat, eagle wall plaque and the captions read “Memorial day. bring garlands of gay flowers to deck the heroes’ grave; and let their country’s flag in memory o’er them wave”. Next a vintage postcard of a woman seen from the chest up holding the American flag, flowers as she wears a flowing top, cap on her head with a laurel wreath and the caption reads “May thy sweet blossoms never cease to bloom in love and trust and peace”. To the final screen with the final banner reading “remembering the fallen on Memorial day”.
