Fun Spring Activities with the Kids

We’re finally starting to shake off the long chill of winter, and with spring peering around the corner, it’s time to think of fun spring activities to do with the kids. From silly scavenger hunts to colorful arts and crafts projects, we’ve got plenty of ideas to spark the imaginations of your little ones. And we have a feeling you might find yourself having fun participating yourself!

1.Get Crafty with Homemade Art

Using a few inexpensive or recycled everyday items, your kids can show off their creativity by crafting all sorts of fun works of art. Take a nature walk with them to find pinecones, spring flowers, leaves and other natural elements that they can use. Then with a bit of glue, paint, and popsicle sticks they can create cool mobiles, wind chimes, and other beautiful art projects.

2. Explore Nature with a Scavenger Hunt

Kids love hunting for hidden treats in the outdoors. Depending on their ages, you could hide small toys, Easter eggs, or other fun items around the yard or a nearby park, or let them hide surprises for each other. Then they can create an awesome treasure map or list of clues to help each other locate the hidden items.

3.Dig into a Garden Party

Now that the snow has melted away, give your kids a chance to play outside by starting a garden. Choose a small, sunny portion of your yard where they can plant some easy-to-grow flowers or vegetables. Or if you already have a garden area or have limited space, they could also build a birdhouse, create some garden crafts or have a tea party in the garden.
