The History of Mother's Day:

All Mother's can thank Ana Jarvis for campaigning in 1907 for Mother's Day to be a national holiday. Even though her own mother had passed away, Ana was inspired by the "Mother's Friendship Day" her mother organized. This day was meant to heal the nation's wounds from the Civil War. It was Woodrow Wilson who realized Ana's dreams in 1914 by declaring Mother's Day a national holiday.

Today, Mother's Day is traditionally celebrated sharing a meal with Mom that she doesn't cook! Mother's Day is also celebrated by giving mom flowers, gifts and cards.
